I have felt energized when engaging in discussions with others about the "hard stuff" for as long as I can remember. I have always felt connected to individuals who are genuine, vulnerable, and take a risk by wanting to work on themselves. This passion drove me to become the Licensed Mental Health Counselor that I am today. I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Dialectical Behavioral, Interpersonal, Existential, and Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic approaches.
my counseling style
Perhaps you feel like you are going through a quarter life crisis or a huge life transition and struggling. You have tried everything you can think of to try to feel better and it is just not working. Are you overwhelmed and feeling stuck? Does your mind race? Are anxiety and sadness causing you to loose sleep and feel unmotivated? You may be saying to yourself "something has to change" but feel unsure of what to do. Some days you find it hard to function. Your relationships may suffer. And you long for healthier ways to cope with life.
You deserve to feel better. I would like to help you to do so! Growing up as a dancer, I have become a strong believer in the connection between mind and body. I find it is very important to tune into your own intuition and "trust your gut". The body gives us a lot of information, and I will emphasize listening to it with mindful awareness. Sometimes low self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness get in the way of this. I also place strong emphasis on self-compassion techniques in order to help you to understand that your emotions are valid and to help you to stop being so hard on yourself.
